The pen is handmade from Ambrosia Maple. Ambrosia Maple os technically not a specific species of maple, but rather a general description of any type of maple that has been infested by ambrosia beetles. The beetle bore into the tree and with it bring fungus that discolor the wood. The wood and is then sanded and polished to a glass like finish. The pen hardware is silver and titanium gold plated.
