The seam ripper/sewing stiletto is handmade from Coffee Tree or Kentucky Coffee Tree. The color of the heartwood is an orange to reddish brown color and grows in the eastern United States. Coffee Tree is not a common tree. Early settlers, particularly in the State of Kentucky, used roasted seeds from the tree as a coffee substitute. Coffee Tree is one of the most fluorescent woods when viewed under black light, glowing a bright yellowish green. The hardware plating is chrome.
