The cap screws on barrel with a fast 1/4 turn (Quad Thread)and the cap posts on end of barrel with a fast 1/4 turn. A tight seal keeps ink fresh. The pen is approximately 5 1/2" long capped and 6 3/8" long posted. The American 2000 includes a two toned German iridium tipped nib and includes both a siphon pump and blue ink cartridge.
