The pen is handmade from Clear Stabilized Box Elder Burl. Box Elder burls yield a very peculiar and highly figured wood prized for its beauty and rarity. The burl is injected under pressure with clear resin to further enhance and stabilize the wood and is then sanded and polished to a glass like finish. The pen hardware is 24kt gold plated.
