The pen is handmade from Stabilized Purple Dyed Buckeye Burl. Buckeye burls yield a very peculiar and highly figured wood prized for its beauty and rarity. The burl is injected under pressure with purple dye and resin to further enhance and stabilize the wood and is then sanded and polished to a glass like finish. The pen hardware is platinum plated.
