The secret compartment keychain is handmade from Katalox also known as Mexican Royal Ebony. The wood is reddish brown to nearly black sometimes with a purple hue. Curly or wavy grain is not uncommon. Katalox grows in Southern Mexico, Central America, and northern South America. The hardware is plated in 24kt gold.
