The seam ripper/sewing stiletto is handmade from Kingwood. Kingwood is a dark purplish or reddish brown with darker black streaks and grows in Brazil. Considered a true Rosewood, Kingwood is among the densest and strongest of all Rosewoods. The wood supposedly got its name from several French kings (Louis XIV and Louis XV) that preferred the wood for fine furniture. The hardware is chrome plated.
