The pen is handmade from Stabilized Spalted Tamarind which is a beautiful wood from Southeast Asia much of which comes from logs found on the jungle floor and allowed to spalt in the very damp warm conditions of the jungle. The colors and the various line patterns are truly unique from one piece to another. Although originally from Africa, Tamarind has been planted worldwide for its fruit. The wood is injected under pressure with resin to further enhance and stabilize the wood and is then sanded and polished to a glass like finish. The pen hardware is titanium gold plated.

The titanium gold offers an impressive contrast and compliment to the black enamel finish of the nib coupler, receiver, and finial.The Churchill includes a German iridium tipped nib and includes both a siphon pump and blue ink cartridge.
